Backups, without the guesswork.
MyDrop keeps up to 30 different automatic backups on your iPhone as records and settings change. These help with local recovery, but they stay with the app.
On-device backups can be lost with a phone or when the app is deleted. Save a backup to Files, iCloud Drive or another location you control, and check the file is there.
Save a backup
- Open MyDrop’s Settings.
- Choose Save a Backup Copy.
- Choose Save to Files in the share sheet and pick your backup location.
- Check the file has saved. Keep a recent copy before changing phones or reinstalling.
Restore a backup
- Keep a separate copy of your current records first, if the app can open them.
- In Settings, choose Restore from Backup and select your MyDrop backup file.
- Review the date and record counts before confirming. Restoring replaces the current records with those in the backup; it doesn’t merge them.
MyDrop validates the backup and makes a protected safety copy before replacing readable current data. If a backup cannot be read or a required safety copy fails, stop and keep the original files.
What’s included?
Route records, pay settings, week preferences and shift templates. Apple Calendar events stay in Calendar and must be managed through your Calendar account. A CSV export is useful for reading your data elsewhere, but it isn’t a full restorable MyDrop backup.
Common questions.
My comparisons are empty.
Add at least three complete earlier routes, then check the selected comparison period. Today’s Outlook separately needs three earlier routes from the same weekday.
My shifts aren’t appearing.
Check that MyDrop has the required Calendar permission in iPhone Settings and that the relevant calendar is available on your phone. The app recognises supported work events; unrelated calendar events may not appear as shifts.
There’s a backup or storage error.
Keep the app and your existing files in place. Avoid deleting or reinstalling it. Check available storage, then contact support with the exact message. If Backup Recovery is offered, review the saved copies or import a known good backup.
How do I move to a new phone?
Save a MyDrop backup outside the old phone first and confirm you can access it. Install MyDrop on the new phone and restore that file. Check the restored records before clearing the old device. Calendar events depend on your Calendar account.
How do I delete my records?
You can delete individual route records in the app. Older versions can remain in local backup copies. Deleting the app removes its local app data, while external backups and Calendar events must be managed separately. Export anything you want to keep first.
